| 中国农业部 副部长 危朝安 ，在 2009 年 3 月说：“应用与研究转基因农业是中国未来的明确地发展趋势，也是我们的战略措施之一并通过技术提高农业部门的竞争力”王志立 ( 音译 ) ，北京朝阳糖尿病医院院长，说：“事情不是一个纯学术讨论，而是巨大的商业利益和学术道德之间的论战。”绿色和平组织在去年的一份报告中说：“大的跨国农业公司，例如孟山都，它有多家海外组织和驻外机构握有转基因水稻的专利权。如果在中国允许转基因水稻进行商业性种植，那末这些大的跨国公司必将有效地拥有中国的水稻种植区”。华中农业大学的科学家回应说，两个品种的转基因水稻 - 华恢 1 号和汕优 63 号 - 均含有中国人独创的基因，它们的应用种植已经得到中国政府的授权，它们具有独占权。 |

| Wei Chao ' an ,vice-minister of agriculture, said “ The application and research on GM agriculture is definitely a future trend in China and is among the strategic measures to drive for a more competitive agricultural sector through technology. ” in March,2009. Wang Zhili, president of Beijing Chaoyang Diabetes Hospital, said “ The case is not a pure academic argument, but a controversy between huge business interests and academic conscience. ” “ The multi-national agricultural companies such as Monsanto are among several overseas organizations or institutions which hold patent rights on GM rice lines being developed in China. If GM rice was allowed to be commercially grown in China then it is these big multinationals that will effectively own China ' s rice bowl, ” said a Greenpeace report last year. Scientists at Huazhong Agricultural University replied by saying two varieties of GM rice ― Huahui 1 and Shanyou 63 ― contain a Chinese-created BT gene and they have been granted the plant right by the Chinese government, which would give them exclusive control. |
