This issue（F-011）and the following issue（F-012）are my own views. I don’t know how anthropologists and historians and archaeologists would say. I hope readers will instruct me.
During human history there were five ordinary inventions which have already and are now pushing the development of human history. They are forging the first stone implement, making the first fire（drilling wood or ramming stone）, domesticating the first animal, sowing the first seed and manufacturing the first steam engine.
Because of these epoch-making inventions human beings solve the problem of food and make our society arrive at such a high civilization and development. Some simple and unsophisticated stone implements were discovered which were made by ancient humans 2 million years ago in Fanchang（繁昌） Anhui province and Wushan（巫山）Chongqing. Peking Man（500 thousand years ago or 770 thousand years ago） was universally acknowledged to be the first to use the fire. In recent years archaeological discoveries indicate that China like the Middle East and Central America is one of the three places of origin of agriculture.
Steam engine was invented by British engineer Watt in 1763 which had marked the industrial revolution beginning. Development and progress brought by the industrial revolution for the world have surpassed those during the previous several millions of years.
At that moment Chinese Nation didn't keep pace with the world .After the Opium War China was humiliated by defeat for more 100 years because it was backward. Today China is rising up abruptly. In the future anything can be overcome and no power can prevent us from moving forwards. Artificial Soil Technology is just generated under such historical background and it can solve completely the four big problems in China. As long as we solve the food problem and have a good living and working condition, we can achieve a high science and technology level with all kinds of scientists. |
