| 假设必定是假设，您必定不是我，至于您怎么处理我的信和光盘那真的是您自己的事。我之所以把信和光盘寄给您，是因为您所处的位置，我把您看作是中国科技界的总代表和中国学术界的最高权威，我是对事不对人的。对于您本人，长期以来我都是抱有仰慕和尊敬的心理，您依然是人们心目中一位德高望重，学识渊博的大学校长。看来，我的用词似乎不那么柔和，那是因为在关系到中国长远的科研方向和路线的根本问题上，没有任何调和的余地，也是两个不同学派之间学术观点的分歧使然。 |

| Assumption is assumption and you are not me, so how you will deal with my letter and CDs is entirely up to you. I am sending you the letter and CDs because of your position and I regard you as the chief representative of the Chinese science and technology field and the highest authority of the Chinese academic community. I only focus on the issue rather than the person. As to you, I have always been full of esteem and respect for you and you are a knowledgeable university president of noble character and high prestige. It seems that my words do not sound very gentle, but I can do nothing about it because there is no negotiation between the two different academic schools when the development direction and path of Chinese science and technology are concerned. |
