China is one of four ancient civilization countries, which appears agriculture before about 10000 years and it is country of rice, soybean and millet. But after 10000 years today China becomes a country with big population and short plough land. Surveying Chinese agricultural situation two index to be used, one is degree of self-sufficiency in grain, another is capacity of production grain, except these any describable is not exact. In 1950 China possessed 475 millions of population, 1.65 billions of plough land, 2.99 mu／a person. In 2005? 1.564 billions of plough land, 1.41 mu／a person. In 2010 Chinese population reached 1.34 billions, 1.825 billions of plough land, below 1.37 mu per a person. In addition 100 million of wild land can be assarted, those are our all of land resources. China put forward to insure 1.8 billions of plough land and over 95% of degree of self-sufficiency in grain. (to be proofread)
