    发展农业的根本目的，是解决人民的吃饭问题。我国的农业，现在已经不能完全解决中国人民的吃饭问题了，而且粮食自给率逐年下降。如果把进口的大豆和把进口的豆油折算成大豆，再把二者加起来，其数字惊人。由于大豆属于粮食，那末，我国的粮食进口量已经超过1亿吨。我国的粮食自给率大约是80℅。此时，我国的谷物自给率可以保持在95℅以上，因为大豆不属于谷物。换句话说，如果我国不进口大豆和豆油，而是依靠国内生产。那必然要与小麦、水稻和玉米争耕地。由于大豆是低产作物，我国的粮食自给率还要降低。

The target to develop agriculture is to solve Chinese foods. Our national agriculture can not solve Chinese foods completely now and the degree of self-sufficiency in grain of China drops year by year. If we convert our import soybean oil into soybean and they belong to grain so our grain import up over 100 million tons and our degree of self-sufficiency in grain is about 80%, but our degree of self-sufficiency in cereal(谷物) is over 95%. In another word, if our country does not import soybean and soybean oil, but we produce them that must dispute farmland with wheat, rice and corn. In that situation, our degree of self-sufficiency in grain will go still down because soybean is crop of low-yield.?????? (to be proofread)
