The problem of rising sea level is a potential threat for agriculture which is not to be neglected. Scientists predict that by 2050 rising sea level will reach 6-26 cm and by the end of this century will reach 30-70 cm. According to scientists' estimation when sea level will has risen up by 1 meter, 120000 square meters of land on shore will be flooded by sea water in our country, which covers 12.5% of our national territory and 70 million people will be moved towards the inner land. At that moment many cities such as Shanghai and Tianjin and Guangzhou will be threatened.
The sites to be chosen for artificial cultivated land have been considered. The altitude should be higher than 70 meters. For such height even though the glaciers on the Antarctic continent and continental edge around the Arctic as well as Greenland and Tibet are thawed, the artifical cultivated land will not be covered by sea water. So we say that the rising sea level effects on agriculture will be solved easily.
